NATURE: THE ORIGINAL STRESS ANTIDOTE

This experiential course will give you practical everyday tools for gaining control of physical and psychological mechanisms of stress and relaxation.

With nature as our working environment, we will use modalities of physical awareness exercises, imagery, and time honored cross-cultural techniques for psychological introspection.

The natural landscape will be used as focal point, and also as a metaphor for health.

The use of techniques alone is insufficient for lasting results. It is also necessary to examine in a real way: the physical, psychological, and cultural assumptions of stress, relaxation, efficiency, and health.

Expect to come away with a sense of wonder and belonging in the natural landscape, as much as gaining useful tools from the clinical activity of the day.

RETURN TO BALANCE:
IMPROVING HEALTH BY CHANGING ATTITUDE

Learning to move beyond mental difficulties about stress is easily accomplished outdoors. Unwinding in nature can improve health.

In this class, I will help you to know how to be comfortable in yourself, outdoors, and how to carry these skills into your everyday life.

We will develop the art of slowing down...
And in slowing down, open perception, efficiency, and excitement to experience more of what surrounds us.

By practicing this 'art of slowing down', "coping" with conflicts that can arise in day to day living becomes more fluid and graceful.
